Today's Amtrak "Pennsylvanian" with ACS-64 631 at 11:24 AM.

And hot on 43's heels is the "Silver Star" with Amtraks's Veteran's ACS-64 642 at 11:37 AM.

Looks like the Pennsylvanian's seating capacity has increased by 36 and consist is identical to the Carolinian's. Perhaps those two trains swap at SSY.

Since Amtrak has run off the 1000s of people who used to ride the Silver Star #91  (when it was a train with full services), it will be interesting to see if they could really undertake a marketing campaign in Raleigh, Columbia, and such locations to rebuild this train as a REAL long distance train, that is attractive and service minded.  Just adding Amtrak's version of diner-lite for sleeping car passengers will do nothing to bring back this route from the doldrums.

Unfortunately there has NOT been passengers run off due to no dining car. The numbers don't reflect that. On Trainorders they certainly do though, but you know...
