Author: Pattenburg When Amtrak placed an order for Siemens ACS-64 engines back in October, 2010 these units would be assigned the numbered series 600 to 670. Amtrak 600 seen here is not one of those ACS-64 engines. Rather this is the Zamboni that is used inside the Giant Arena in Hershey, PA to resurface the ice before and between intermissions of every Hershey Bears ice hockey game. This "roster photo" of Amtrak 600 was taken prior to the start of January 19, 2020 game and with the arena’s permission. Prior to the puck being dropped to start Sunday’s January 19, 2020 game against the Rochester Americans, the Zamboni operator starts his procedure to resurface the ice rink before the game against the Rochester Americans. The Zamboni is equipped with studded tires for handling and traction. Take note of the red pantograph painted on the top. Giant Arena’s previous Amtrak Zamboni also had a wrap that advertised Amtrak’s Keystone Service back in 2014.

Not a "Zamboni" which is a brand name, named after it's inventor. Sort of like using "Kleenex" for tissue or "Xerox" for making a copy.
