Date: 02/20/20 07:37 Re: Acela at Caddoa tonight Author: ClubCar I cannot but wonder how the ride quality is on that new Acela Trainset? Those cars do not look to be very comfortable with being semi-coupled together and sharing trucks. My problem is that I still enjoy riding on the traditional passenger cars as I have made many trips up and down the Amtrak Northeast Corridor, former Pennsylvania Railroad and rode it when it was still Pennsylvania and then Penn Central as well as Amtrak. What many folks do not understand is that the old GG-1's operated at fast speeds pulling conventional equipment and when the tracks were very well maintained prior to when the Pennsy merged with the NYC, this was a very comfortable railroad and keep in mind that the Pennsylvania Railroad was still operating all kinds of freight trains over this line at the same time. The younger generation of today have no idea what it was like back then and I realize that this is not their fault. I'm just giving my own personal opinion from those times. So we will just have to wait and see how these new trainsets perform when Amtrak begins to operate them.
