The shoulder continues through the tunnel, but traffic permitting, it's best to take the full lane -- stuff accumulates in the shoulder and you can't see it until you're on top of it, flats happen that way. The area is coming back after a couple of intense fires, with unusually heavy blooms of the San Gabriel bush poppy, plus some pink-leaved shrub I couldn't identify. We followed the tracks into Acton, caught the Lancaster train a bit further on. Then back along Escondido Cyn through Agua Dulce and down Agua Dulce Cyn Road, really nice run!
