A slightly late #4 departing Flagstaff provided enough light for a photo at Winona on 3/9/2018.

Thanks everyone, you may notice the lights of a WB stack getting very close, tho it would not have screened Amtrak I am glad it did not make.

I'd be totally guessing but came pretty quick thru the dip but there is good curve here.  Sure someone may correct me but 59????

Question from an easterner not familiar with Superliner / baggage cars combos: Is that a transition coach/sleeper car next to the bag, to give access from the train, or does whoever handles the baggage have to exit the train? Thanks,!

The Transition Sleeper has a high level door on one end and a low level door on the other end. Same as the Santa Fe Hi-Level Step-up / Step-down cars.
So you do have access to the Baggage Car from the train.

Trans dorm behind the bag car.

That is one nice shot!  Can you shoot that from I40 just pulling onto the shoulder or do you have to drive in there?

I drove in , I40 not a good place to park unless you have no fear of trucks, tho maybe you are a trucker?  It is easy on off and a pretty decent parking area opposite this shot.
Road is fairly busy but you don't have to be on overpass itself, can climb over approach barrier so you are pretty safe. 

You might get some shot fro shoulder?

Track speed between switches at Darling (as shown) is 55 mph.

Yeah and the speed increases big time once no. 4 clears East Darling, rode it almost 3 years ago and man, talk about putting the pedal to the medal!
