Passenger Trains > La Plata, MO has become a "ghost" station!Date: 03/30/20 20:15 La Plata, MO has become a "ghost" station! Author: BaltoJoey The past couple of days no one has gotten on or off nunbers 3 or 4 at La Plata. They train only stops for a few seconds. A trainman peeks out the door and then gives the okay for the train to go on it's way!

Have you purchased your own Bob Cox "bobble-head" yet? Help support the local La Plata economy. Highball! Date: 03/31/20 06:35 Re: La Plata, MO has become a "ghost" station! Author: GenePoon Neither Bob Cox nor Amy have been there to greet passengers and the train in the past few days. They are probably sheltering at home, and may have been directed to do so by Amtrak.
A couple of evenings ago, the conductor leaned way out of the upper window in the Superliner door, gestured widely (not "wildly") at nobody on the platform, and waved to the camera as the train continued on its way. Author: TennesseeTraveler I think that all Amtrak "volunteer" staff across the country have been ordered off the job until the virus crisis is over. There was one passenger who boarded 3 tonight and I remember seeing on the cam a passenger board 4 yesterday or this morning and Mrs. Cox was there but probably not authorized to be there.

Train also has a deadhead Surfliner Business Class car on the rear. Here is the conductor on 3(29), as mentioned, "gesturing widely to the empty platform." |
