New Jersey Transit closes all of its station waiting rooms

Effective immediately and continuing until further notice, all station waiting rooms will be temporarily closed systemwide due to community-health precautions surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic.Please note the following for this closure:
  • Access to trains and platforms will remain open at most stations unless otherwise posted.
  • Customers may continue to purchase tickets at available station TVMs or through the NJ TRANSIT mobile app.

That means barricading the waiting room and throwing the homeless out of Newark Penn.

I suppose NJT thinks that any waiting room-space is a location where the virus can be passed to other people.  And with ridership down 95% it will not affect too many.
