Passenger Trains > Significantly shorter AutoTrain todayDate: 04/06/20 21:01 Significantly shorter AutoTrain today Author: GenePoon AutoTrain 53(6):
Two units, coach diner/lounge, three coaches, three sleepers, Sleeper diner, Sleeper Lounge, three sleepers, Transition sleeper (thirteen Superliners), thirteen auto carriers. I believe this is the consist that lost many of its auto carriers in the wreck. However it is also short four Superliners compared to yesterday's 53(5). Date: 04/07/20 05:28 Re: Significantly shorter AutoTrain today Author: amtrakbill This mornings NB arrival into Lorton had 15 passenger cars and 21 autocarriers.

Looks like there are available seats in coach, and in all sleeper accommodations northbound for tomorrow's departure northbound. Saturday's northbound also has the lowest bucket / cheapest coach fares available at $89 Date: 04/07/20 09:42 Re: Significantly shorter AutoTrain today Author: jst3751 In this time of "stay at home" and "safer at home" and social distancing, why are so many people still doing leisure travel, which I would guess that 90% or more of the passengers on the AutoTrain are leisure traveling.
Yes, there are people that need to travel for essential purposes, but leisure travel is not in any way essential travel. Date: 04/07/20 10:23 Re: Significantly shorter AutoTrain today Author: PHall Wouldn't you be required to go into quarantine for 14 days after your arrival in Florida?
Date: 04/07/20 14:58 Re: Significantly shorter AutoTrain today Author: ABB I expect that many of the folks on the northbound have spent most of the winter in Florida and it's time to get home.

I didn't post the southbound info, but there's a LOT of availability. Here in this part of South Florida, most snowbirds and Canadians are long gone. |
