Joint Midwest & Deep South Trip Summer 2013: Part 4
Author: Passfanatic

Now that my time in NOL is finished, this album will show pictures from my trip on the Amtrak City of New Orleans from NOL-CHI, some railroad and subway scenes around Chicago, a ride on the South Shore from CHI-South Bend Airport, and then the Capitol Limited from SOB-Rockville.

These three pictures were taken both inside and outside of New Orleans Passenger Rail Terminal.

Nice.  Feels like I just took that trip with you.
Yazoo City looks just like Zig Ziglar described it from his youth!

I love "out the back window" railanning but I have to say, some of those shots of the "Main Line of Mid America" down south look like some second rate regional's track.  I guess I'd expect a more robust looking main line.

Your depot shots are great.  I'd forgotten how simple, streamlined, and functional NOUPT is.  I've been there a couple times, but it's been a while.

And the girl in the red shirt on the bench at Jackson is giving you quite the inviting smile.  Or maybe she's your travel partner...

Great set of photos.

Andy

Continued thanks. The rear window out of the Superliner cars is great, especially when its clean. I really appreciated the tracks behind us when we ran along Lk. Ponchartrain. Now for a few hours in Chicago before taking the South Shore to the end.

After leaving CUS, I stopped by Roosevelt Road overpass for a couple of minutes to get some shots.
