Passenger Trains > From the Rear WindowDate: 05/24/20 06:33 From the Rear Window Author: bandob It has been great to see all the contributions on "From the Window of a Train!" They are making the increased stay-at-home time more pleasant for me.
I thought I'd try a variation: "From the Rear Window." These can be easy to get if you happen to be in the last car, or have access to it, but there are often difficulties in getting a decent photo. Take Amfleet, for example. Often the photos are taken from inside the body of the car, through two sets of windows. I've found it helpful to use a degree of telephoto, with the focus center-weighted. The camera is then reading the light only from the outside. Of course window cleanliness is a limiting factor as well. This photo of an Amtrak work train in Delware was taken from inside the body of the last Amfleet coach. One with reasonably clean windows, too.
