SEPTA shutdown for 12hrs
Author: RGTower

Philadelphia Action 6 news:

ALL SEPTA bus, trolley, subway, and train service is temporarily suspended until tomorrow morning due to the riots and looting in the city.

www.SEPTA.org confirmed the message on their home page.

Last night, the city police were outnumbered against the rioters. Shutting down transit will keep the trouble makers from being mobile, and keep the operators and train crews safe from the anarchists.

Thank you for not calling them "protesters."

"Rioters," OK but "terrorists" would be more accurate.

And, as terrorists, they should start rounding some up and stacking them in Gitmo to sit there and think about it for, oh say 25-50 just for starters.

Can we send the bad cops there too?

After all, for the jillionth time terible police actions triggered frustrations caused by years of bad behavior.

NO terrorists has to do with politics. Those rioting/looting are doing so purely for personal gain. Nothing political about it. Just lawbreaking.

Those rioting/looting have NOTHING to do with the protests going on.

SEPTA service restored at 6am today.
The news outlets are now reporting (as of lunch time) that bus, trolley, and subway service into center city is shut down. Train service is still running on the lifeline schedule.

Hopefully, this keeps the trouble makers from moving around tonight.

 "terible (sic) police actions triggered frustrations"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If one needed to look up a definition for a broad brush statement, one could simply save time and use the aforementioned phrase.
Have there been instances of improper actions by law enforcement officers over time?  Yes.  Should those individuals be held responsible for their actions?  Yes.   Does that mean one should denigrate the entire service?  I say no.
They fall under the same umbrella.
There is a perfect example of a person twisting words to match their own bias.
The sentence you chose to cut out "Can we send the bad cops there too?  " does not in any way shape or form mean that all cops are bad.
What have you done to fix the abuse?
"twisting words to match their own bias."
Ummm...I think you may have glossed over what I said, much in the same way that I glossed over what you said.  I most assuredly vocalized that (1) there have been past instances of unacceptable law enforcement officer behaviour and (2) that they should be held accountable.  Not seeing any bias there.  To your question about my actions (or in-actions based on interpretation) what and how I approach the problem can be summarized by simply saying that as a citizen and having been called for jury duty a number of times in my life, IF I was to be called for jury duty where the case involved unacceptable actions by a law enforcement officer, we will presume that by that time, he or she would be a 'former' LEO that I would listen to the prosecution and the defense equally.  Not seeing any bias there.  Admittedly, that could be a challenge for me personally as I have the utmost respect for law enforcement personnel across the spectrum.  Would those internal feelings excuse me from the preliminary jury selection process?  Hard to say.  Maybe I will find out about it one day.  Ok.....potential bias there....but personally accountable for it.
