Return of full Florida Service off to bad start
Author: twropr

June 1 was the first day in about three weeks that both the SILVER METEOR and STAR left Miami.  METEOR #98 is doing fine; however, STAR #92 stopped somewhere north of Palatka, FL due to a disabled CSX freight and some passengers were bussed. There are only about 2-4 freights/day on the line between Jacksonville and PAK - would be interesting to find out what happened.

Is that near where the Auto Train stumbled?

No, the Auto Train derailment was near Deland,FL .  Palatka is the next Amtrak stop to the north. Q455 put one car on the ground.
