Passenger Trains > Wine Train right-of-wayDate: 06/03/20 21:06 Wine Train right-of-way Author: wpamtk Took a drive up the Napa Valley and observed the Wine Train's trackage. I know that they haven't run since March and we had some late rains, but to look at it you'd think it was abandoned. In many places the track is covered with weeds as much as three feet high. Their website says they plan to start operations July 1; hopefully they'll send out a weed sprayer before then.

Seriously, rent-a-goat brush and grass mowing services are avavilable, complete with a portable electric fence to keep the goats where they belong. No problem with pesticides, and very effective on steep terrain, poison oak, dry grass, etc. They're often used alongside freeways. - Doug Debs Date: 06/04/20 11:32 Re: Wine Train right-of-way Author: PHall Or just drive a tractor with a brush mower attachment up and down the right-of-way.
More then a few contractors out there to do the job. And you don't need a spray permit either. Date: 06/04/20 12:00 Re: Wine Train right-of-way Author: pdt I think not running out of money, before they have sustainable customers again, is a slightly higher priority than grass on the row.

Many people ocnfuse pesticide with herbicide. "The media" does it ott, contributing to the lack of knowledge since lots of people get whatever they know from "the media.". There has been a 'herd' working various parts of Elk Grove for the past week or so; taking those weeds right down to the ground !
