Passenger Trains > IAIS 1989 Quad City Rocket Dinner Train Dome Ride to Wilton, IADate: 07/09/20 11:55 IAIS 1989 Quad City Rocket Dinner Train Dome Ride to Wilton, IA Author: MWBaker IAIS 1989 Quad City Rocket Dinner Train including views from onboard.
These weekend afternoon runs from Rock Island, Illinois to Wilton, Iowa on the Iowa Interstate RR featured lite fare; (hot dogs, chips, etc) instead of a sit-down dinner. I had forgotten how some of the good citizens of Wilton came out to greet the train. IIRC the dome was "Big Ben" and part of Butterworth's collection of cars... Heck the hot dogs are just icing on the cake, riding the old Rock Island main line in a dome would be awesome!
