TWU: our members are facing huge job cuts

Transport Workers Union John Samuelson said today that his members are facing "steep job cuts" if Congress and the President don't agree on a Covid-19 relief package by October 1.  The TWU represents about 150,000 bus and rail employees across the US.

In other news,
JetBlue just announced upcoming new service from RDU and other airports.  New routes - not reinstated flights that they cancelled.
YouTube has started showing me ads for a flight school saying the pilot job market is going to be great.
CSX's intermodal facility in Rocky Mount, NC is nearing completion.
Yet another massive commercial development in Raleigh, NC was announced to be moving forward today.

Draw your own conclusions about:
  • Labor costs
  • Pre-existing corporate plans that are now being blamed on something else that starts with "C".
  • Regional economic trends, whatever the cause, like taxes.
