Passenger Trains > Near Term Stimulus Bill

In separate remarks last night and this morning both Sen. McConnell and Speaker Pelosi basically said that a further stimulus bill is dead until after the Nov. election. As you'd expect each blamed the other side for the stalemate and each said in their own ways that they remain very far apart.  

   Speaker Pelosi further commented that " the airline industry will now be forced to have massive layoffs which will further damage an already fragile recovery".  

   It would appear that Amtrak's 2,000 layoffs and Oct. 1 tri-weekly LDT's are a near certainty.
