FL BrightLine / FEC preparation and construction 9/15
Author: Lackawanna484

There's been an enormous amount of new construction in northern Palm Beach county FL in the past few weeks.  BrightLine is moving full speed ahead.

Starting at NorthLake Boulevard in Palm Beach Gardens, grading for the second track is in place, work is underway for a new, second bridge over the creek adjacent to A-1-A / 811.  The second track space appears graded, with huge piles of ballast every few hundred feet north through Palm Beach Gardens. Lots of construction equipment, crews working, etc. This section, up to Palm Beach Gardens Blvd, may be tri-use someday, with Florida East Coast, BrightLine, and Tri-Rail.

The major intersections have now been widened to accommodate the second track. Crossing signals moved, quad gates installed, etc. Indiantown Road in Jupiter is closed now for this work.  Foundations are being installed for the new bridge over the Loxahatchee at Tequesta. Several cranes, even a small Shuttlewagon track mobile.  There's a long siding into the closed cement plant which will likely be tied into this work.

The five mile area through Tequesta and into Jonathan Dickinson park is relatively flat, and clear. There's a very long siding inside the Park which will also be tied into the project.

Crossings in Hobe Sound have been widened, or are now underway up to Port Salerno, and I noticed supplies at one of the several small bridges, so that work may be starting, too.

Lots of work underway with several contractors and funding buckets.
