Trains and Stations: Deerfield, IL
Author: bandob

Deerfield station was originally built as the Chicago, Milwaukee and St. Paul Railway Passenger Depot in 1872 on what is currently the site of 35 Central Avenue. A boxcar was used as a temporary station while the permanent one was being built. It was rebuilt at its present location in 1900. Deerfield was famous for a time for having a "no kissing" zone.
A Milwaukee-bound Hiawatha overtakes a METRA slowing for the station in 2007.

Assuming that the "No Kissing Zone" was designed to keep traffic moving through the "Drop Off" zone ?

I just looked it up the "famous Deerfield no kissing zone". Interesting story.
