Passenger Trains > Two More Heading For FloridaDate: 10/13/20 11:25 Two More Heading For Florida Author: PCCRNSEngr The next two Viewliner Sleepers were shipped from CAF this morning. Santee River 62513 and Satilla River 62514. Weather sucked this morning so only one shot right after the NS pilots were on board in Elmira. The two photos of the sleepers were from yesterday as their 45T brought them out to the waiting Amtrak P42.

Continue in service, existing Viewliners (where 1st Class passengers bring their own Duck Tape). Proof positive to me (and I hope you), Amtrak management intends to eliminate LD trains in the East. Date: 10/13/20 12:18 Re: Two More Heading For Florida Author: amtrakbill These cars are Amtraks equivant of the Boeing 737 Max - new equipment going to storage
Date: 10/13/20 12:35 Re: Two More Heading For Florida Author: bluesboyst These should be placed in service ASAP and current viewliners sent to Beach Grove for future rebuild.
Date: 10/13/20 12:58 Re: Two More Heading For Florida Author: PHall Okay, so they have a "buffer" car between the lead locomotive and the two new cars.
Why no buffer car between the new cars and the rear locomotive? Date: 10/13/20 13:38 Re: Two More Heading For Florida Author: Phantom_of_Cajon PHall Wrote:

The Amfleet is most like for total wheel count for grade crossings and signals and not a buffer car. Just a guess. Again you knit-pick and make an error. We all know that Viewliners do not operate in the West--so why should I mention Western Train in this Thread? But, thanks for the opportuniyy to point out something my fellow fans may not have been aware of--- We all know about Amtrak management's desire to kill the Western LD's-----Anderson told us us so--and tried to kill the chief with the bus bridge. But, some may not have realized Eastern trains like the Lake Shore are in danger also -- the proof is downgraded dining service; placing the Boston sleeper immediately behind a smoking-horn blowing locomotive, and now storing new sleepers. It's space for the crew on the down bound trip from Albany Rensselaer. All of the fetch trains have run that way: two units with an amtube in the middle.
