Passenger Trains > PV Tioga Pass coast-to-coast

PV Tioga Pass will be making its way back from its work in Canada escorting high-value shipments. The car is due to depart Albany, NY for Penn Station in New York City on October 15th. From New York, it will be on the Cardinal on October 16th and then the Southwest Chief from Chicago on October 19th.

Arrival in Los Angeles should be October 21st. That's 42 days on the road.

I sure hope someone gets a photo of it in Penn Station.  Almost tempted to fly transcontinental to get a photo.

You can always volunteer somewhere, or start selling all the junk u've accumulated over the years on ebay, or clean up and fix up your property, or take pix of all the aircraft stored at Mojave (U can post tem here, we wont complain) or get pix of the train to Creal, which no one ever gets pix of.  I saw some great locations when i was last there, but no trains....

What time are you scheduled to leave Albany?

The Tioga Pass departs Albany tomorrow (10/15) on train 64 for Penn Station  I'm joining in Chicago for the trip on the Southwest Chief to Los Angeles.

Amtrak #4 arrives in Needles on 10/21 at 12:16 AM History for the last 2 months shows an average departure delay of 19 minutes

Amtrak #3 with PV Tioga Pass arrives Needles on 10/21 at 12:31 AM History for the last 2 months shows a medium departure delay of 59 minutes

I am thinking about taking #4 from Fullerton to Needles coach then Tioga Pass back. Probably won't decide until Tuesday 10/20 afternoon to see how #3 is progessing.

Just so I’m not spacing out, they’ll be coming into Chicago on Saturday morning, right?

Amtrak no longer will show you an entire schedule so this may be off but should be close.

On the Cardinal leaving New York at 6:45 AM tomorrow (10/16) arriving in Chicago Saturday 10/17.  Departure on the Southest Chief is Monday 10/19.
