Passenger Trains > NJ: North Brunswick train station, restarted?Date: 10/21/20 07:58 NJ: North Brunswick train station, restarted? Author: Lackawanna484 The long delayed NJ Transit train station on the Northeast Corridor at North Brunswick (about mile post 34) may see some additional push in the next few months. The station is part of a project to improve capacity, reduce line clogging crossovers, and create economic value in an area which has seen explosive growth. Parts of the large project like the Costco have been open for several months.
This construction project and an expansion of County Yard, the Mid-Loop turn back (?), and a new eastbound platform at Jersey Avenue are all part of capacity expansion, mostly paid for by NJ Transit and the county. The transit village, office complex, and retail will be part of the Main Street project. https://patch.com/new-jersey/southbrunswick/north-brunswick-train-station-project-moves-next-phase |
