Two through the Bridesburg section of Philly - 2-19-20
Author: Mgoldman

Couple of random shots captured along the NEC back in February of this year -

AMTK #669 leads a train westbound en route to 30th Street Station
Which train is this - no doubt the consist gives it away?

A SEPTA push/pull train led by SPAX #901 catches the last light of day
eastbound through Philadelphia just shy of the stop in Bridesburg.

Amtrak considers the main from Harrisburg, PA to NY - and on to Boston
as West to East (and Philadelphia to Washington DC as North to South).
How does SEPTA classify its line from Philly to Trenton- South to North,
or West to East?  Can't recall...

Nice shots. As for the catenary, as a wise man once said, "it is what it is."

To play Name That Train. First train is likely the Meteor. I don't think the Star or the Crescent routinely carried three sleepers pre-COVID.

True, and it is magnified in a telephoto shot.

Correct - it's the Meteor! Only the Meteor carried three Viewliner Sleeper pre-COVID. The train was to carry three sleepers post COVID as a combined Star/Meteor operating daily, but it was cut back to just TWO.

Sometimes, however... it's "just a train" without
the catenary.  In otherwords, the catenary,
magnified sometimes I think adds interest.

Sometimes, more than other times:

I see 5 cars after the Metroliners - one's a baggage
car.  Seems more than 3 sleepers or...?

Metroliners? Lol. I knew what you meant, but they're Amfleet II's. After them is the Viewliner Diner, 3 sleepers, and the Viewliner baggage car...

Thanks - and good eye!

In regards to Amfleet II's and Metroliners - hadn't
paid close attention to the naming of the fleet(s)
though Wiki has a good description.  What was
the difference between a demotored Metroliner
and an Amfleet I car?
