I hope MSE doesn't chop my head off, but why would they cancel this train?

Maybe it snowed somewhere along its route and they did not want to stop and wait!

They may still be concerned about pull aparts due to the extraordinarily cold temperatures this morning: http://www.mikesmithenterprisesblog.com/2021/02/another-morning-of-extraordinary cold.html  Weather will still be extremely cold through tomorrow night.

Or, the issue might be more logistical than meteorological, I don't know.

If the temps are Alaska type cold, I cant go against that decision at all!
