Passenger Trains > Pushing the "pause" button at DC Union Station re-developmentDate: 02/22/21 18:42 Pushing the "pause" button at DC Union Station re-development Author: Lackawanna484 The controversial plan to create a huge parking garage and bus depot adjacent to Washington DC Union Station has been paused, as the various parties consider the impact on the neighborhood, and whether the plan is "too car centric". Community groups, Amtrak, and others have criticized the planning document as out of touch, and the project as too big. Sources close to the discusions did not say that the change in federal administrations influenced this decision, which is very consistent with the District's desire to increase the use of bicycles, walking, etc.
