Author: ronald321 Over the last 20 years or so, Amtrak management has put out dozens of "Plans" like this -- great sounding ideas about new service, new equipment, and big expansions.
Basically, it is usually talk, talk, talk, -- no meaningful action. The only meaningful ACTION has been Anderson's downgrading of service -- which current management (Flynn and Gardner) have not attempted to correct, or even talk about. So, Great-- now they have another 10 plan for expansion. (which the freight railroads will abort before anything sees the light of day). Author: MEKoch The only way any expansion of Amtrak happens: 1) Biden administration puts big sustained money towards expansion. 2) Biden administration then sits hard on the operating railroads to cooperate, as it is in their best interest.

Exactly... it's on the new Administration, including the Transportation secretary, to make this happen. If it doesn't get done in the next 3.5 years under Amtrak Joe and Mayor Pete, it has no chance of ever happening. The sand is flowing through the hourglass, and time's a wasting.
