Still not sure why we can't just take the switches in hand and go. But leave it to the UPRR to put in a system that won't let a train crew do that.
Date: 02/19/02 09:16 RE: #11 of 2.18.02 Author: F40PHR231 #11 arrived around 20-minutes early -- Dash-8 #509 was dropped off in Portland, but the engine sat in front of the Starlight on track 5 in Portland Union Station, waiting for signal. Train didn't depart until 509 finally moved out of the way at 4:30, 2 hours and 15 minutes late.
