The rooftop A/C units were added to these domes by Holland America/Westours when they were rebuilt for the McKinley Explorer in the '80s and '90s. At one time I think they owned 11 of the 14 or so Budd Big Domes built for ATSF and GN. Later, they all went to Iowa Pacific.
