4 GEs on the SW Chief, man add a little express freight, and you've darn near got a throwback to the early 2000s (super) SW Chiefs. Loved seeing those at Fullerton, CA back in the day.

Are both "trains" occupied? People waited 24 hours to continue their trep?

Cool documentation of a sad trip interruption aftermath for many Amtrak riders – in daylight too!

Was there enough equipment in Los Angeles to restart the cycling of Nos. 3 and 4?  Chicago may be easier as equipment could be tapped from many routes, but in Los Angeles the equipment surely was limited.

Actually, this isn't too far off from many of the peak Summer consisits, but not this year!

I was just going to say - this isn't a combination of TWO number 3's, this is the normal consist restored to what it SHOULD be! LOL!

And this is why we probably will not waste our money on Amtrak again. I never minded being a little late but it is to the completely stupid point now. Throw in some really crap food and it's a guaranteed no brainer.

Nice video, neat train.  Would've been a fun ride across the desert usually traversed at night.
