The right-of-way looks well kept Posted from iPhone Date: 06/18/21 19:43 Re: Does this look like 110 mph? Author: bigmc83 My crude calculation of approximating the train length as it passes the camera and timing it comes out to 68mph. I overestimated on the train length (7cars @85ft each +1 loco at 60ish feet). So the 75 to 80mph is probably accurate. It looks slow to me just watching the video.
Sean Posted from iPhone Date: 06/18/21 21:58 Re: Does this look like 110 mph? Author: cchan006 Nice video. The way you composed it (low, and wide angle) has the train seemingly a bit faster than it actually is.
Just my opinion, but slower than 110 mph. Date: 06/18/21 22:17 Re: Does this look like 110 mph? Author: BMH Engine= 67ft, Cars=85x7=595ft (round up to 600)
Approx total length= 667ft Time= 5sec passing the cat pole (head end to rear end) 90mph= 132ft/sec 132x5sec=660ft Estimated Speed very close to 90mph Note: 110mph=161ft/sec x 5 sec = 805ft Date: 06/19/21 20:26 Re: Does this look like 110 mph? Author: coach No---not 110 mph. Even on full screen, it looks like a lesser speed.
