Amtrak #6 climbing Donner Pass at Gorge (Rocky Point) east of Baxter CA.

One could get some nice glint lighting approaching 4 pm.

Love it!  You can sure hear the chug of the GE.  And you just get a wisp of the usually overpowering radiator fans on the F40.  

I miss that Amtrak!

Lee, most excellent…. Brings me back to some of my most favorite Amtrak years, and perhaps my favorite spot on the Hill, too— love it!
