A favorite photo taken several years ago on a LD western train.  Enjoy the ride (visually and oderly0  stainless steel  refuse receptacle is taped shut while Amtrak's substitution takes two lounge seats.  THIRD WORLD.

They have tall trash bins that block the view that the they don't use, then open garbage right next to it.
Typical of Amtrak management's stupidity and arrogance. 

Oh....but only if Amtrak had more funding! Then the rotten culture would change! Sarcasm intended.

Could you show us a picture of the area closer? I have seen something like this before, but only after someone projectile vomited after drinking some confidence juice/alcohol. Also saw a closed off section to the toilet downstairs in the sightseer car on Train 5 after someone crapped on the floor by the restroom door that was wide open for use. I always wonder if some folks ever filed a lawsuit because the trash bin doors hurt their arm/hand.lol

The person or company who designed the Amfleet Diner Lite also deserves the same award to the person who designed the tall and obnoxious garbage cans! Amfleet Diner Lite "diners" get to sit at seats with no windows, or across from the garbage cans - very appetizing! Windows don't align with seating. Awful!

This is been going on for many years. 
I think a sentence to sit on one of Barbara Richardson's bistro toad stools for 8 hours a day for a week could do the trick.
Not even a tacky McDonald's restaurant with a stupid manager would be so sloppy with garbage.

Only in the bizzaro world of Modern North American Railroading.
