Amtrak Winter Park Express Denver 12 Jan 2022(

Amtrak's Winter Park Express arrived Denver Union Station, Denver, Colorado, 12 January 2022.  Three cars (31030, 31014 & 34117) have Pacaso advertising wrap- 'Second home ownership for 1/8 the cost' is in large print.

1 - Amtrak 45 and 27 on the extra long train #5, CZ, with the Winter Park Express train at Prospect Junction, Denver, Colorado, 12 January 2022.

2 - Amtrak Superliners with advertising wrap.

3 - Amtrak 171 & 76 likely the power for first Winter Park Express trip(s).  Denver, CO, 12 January 2022.

Yes there is, now, is it usable at temperatures below freezing.

operation lifesaver took the e's up there 10 years ago?  I can't remember anything 2009?

not sure about a wash rack in denver for amtrak, or any rr, perhaps rtd, amtrak's cz gets squeegies, you can always  rent a mobile wash service too.

Do they have enough space for the entire train in the station? Where would they put it?
Track 4 is for Amtrak trains 5 and 6. Track 5 is also for Amtrak and can handle private cars. Tracks 1 and 2 are the A line to the airport and 7 and 8 are for the north and northwest commuter lines. I guess they could temporarily use the stub tracks 3 and 6.  Am I missing something here?

5/6 would use Track 4 while the Winter Park Express (WPE) would use Track 5.  They run as separate trains between Denver and Winter Park.  The pics provided showed the WPE
trainset essentially being delivered to Denver having been combined with No. 5 out of Chicago.

Current DUS Track Assignments:
Tracks 1-2 - East Corridor/Airport Line to DIA and North Metro to 124th Ave Station
Track 3 - operational spares (storage)
Tracks 4-5 - Amtrak, WPE, (non-DTO/RTD)
Track 6 - operational spares (storage)
Tracks 7-8 - North West Line to Westminster, Gold Line to Arvada/Ward Rd.

Tracks 3 and 6 at Denver Union Station (DUS) only hold about 4-6 cars and have high level platforms.  Denver Transit Operators (DTO) stages operational spares on Tracks 3
and 6 in case they need to make a swap with any of the trains assigned to a particular route that day.

Missed that, thanks. And thanks for the update on track assignments, I thought the Thornton line would come in on #7 and 8 due to the frequency of airport trains.

Not an unreasonable assumption with the A-Line frequency but DTO and RTD have figured out scheduling to make it all work as described.  The lead onto the North Metro alignment comes off of Main Track 2 at the "north(east)" end of the DUS Control Point and it's a straight shot to Track 2 at the station.  DTO generally tries to avoid having trains crossing all the way over from one side of the plant to the other during the day.  Functionally consider an imaginary line that splits the station trackage and approach into two halves.  Two of the commuter lines go into one half, and the other two go in the other half.  It keeps things simple for the dispatcher and for customers you'll always know what track to expect your train to be departing from.

why should we  be glad the CZ is a mere shadow of it self? serving the west coast
