Passenger Trains > Great Starlight / Zephyr tripDate: 01/12/22 13:26 Great Starlight / Zephyr trip Author: dcautley Bad news and good news.
Bad news... as we all know, the Empire Builders have been cancelled since the 7th or 8th. Good news.... there is more than one way to get to from Portland to Chicago; in my case, via Sacramento. Even better news: both the Starlight and the Zephyr were on time or early, the crews were great, and the weather was FANTASTIC! Think lots of sun on lots of snow, wildlife, etc. Here are a couple of pictures ... 1. A machine that was parked a couple of tracks over at the Granby, CO station stop. 2. One snapshot of the light from Gore canyon, in Colorado. Yeah, I'll be a day late to the RPCA conference in Cleveland, but I'll be there.
