I have just noticed that Amtrak 14 is in service disruption, and have not seen a recent update on twitter for Amtrak alerts.

Hit somebody in South San Jose. I don't have any more detail.

@AmtrakAlerts on Twitter, sometime around 4:30 a.m. on 1/24/22: "Coast Starlight Train 14 which departed from Los Angeles (LAX) on 1/23 is currently operating approximately 4hrs late due to earlier trespasser incident between Salinas (SNS) and San Jose (SJC)."

We hit a person near Morgan Hill and Train 14 couldn’t leave the scene until being released by the coroner.

I wondered if that was the 14 you were on...well, the upside is "Mt. Shasta by daylight." The downside is a late-ish/after dark arrival into Portland and a very dark arrival into Seattle. Good luck!

I’m on 11 Diridon - LAUPT and fingers crossed all will be well to the terminus.

The sunset at Lompoc was fantastic. The surf was whipping off the breakers.

A little different to the North Yorkshire coastline I’m used to.
