AAPRCO "Sugarland Limited" today through West Palm Beach
Author: rbenko

Thanks to the handy-dandy tracking map on the Caritas website, I was able to get my lazy butt out to record it coming through West Palm Beach this afternoon.

Here's the lineup:

AMTK 40
AMTK 130
SLRG 1 "Caritas"
Frisco "Cimarron River"
Northern Sky Charters "Northern Sky"
Northern Sky Charters "Northern Dream"
Seaboard "Hollywood Beach"
Pennsylvania "Francis L. Suter"
New York Central NYC 3 "Portland"
Chesapeake and Ohio "Chapel Hill"
AMTK 25026

Thanks for viewing.

Neat.  Thank you for sharing this.  Is the Amtrak Amfleet II coach used as a crew caboose?

I would expect that the "Caritas" has lost it San Luis & Rio Grande #1 number by now.

I'm riding the AAPRCO special and we were told that the Amfleet coach was added so that move from Miami to Sebring would be considered a passenger train rather than a light engine move. Apparently slightly higher speed limits.

Locomotives are more stable as they go down the tracks when they are hauling a car, as they are designed to do.

Good shot! Nice simple location with the grass and Palmetto.
