Has Amtrak asked for Billions yet?
Author: ronald321

If I'm not mistaken - tomorrow, May 15, is the deadline for the DOT report to
Congress - on how the 1st years Billions for Amtrak will be spent,

To my knowledge, Gardner hasn't asked for a dime of Infrastructure Billions.

Anybody know anything?

No money for Amtrak.  Joe gave it all to Ukraine instead.

As far as domestic funding, not sure of Amtrak. I do'tn think you just "get" money.  You have submit proposals.  I know people who work for school districts whose full time job  to write grants submissions.
Often it is not the best use but fits into the parameter of the legislation.  ie shovel ready HSR projects given the go ahead in 2008.
However, even tho a single US senator objected the money will go to Ukraine since we know they are a totally honest democracy beyond approach.

Unlike Amtrak, Ukraine is not a lost cause.

Amtrak could take a few operating lessons from the folks running Ukraine's railways in an active war zone.

Man, I was thinking adding the 180 Day Notices are coming but I bet Ronald and Railcity would have a heart attack if I even said that, anyway I for one am not all enthusiastic about today's Amtrak compared to before Airline Boy arrived, so whatever happens, it's on them, Amtrak used to be a much better passenger carrier, today, not so much which is sad!

“The Corridor ID Program will help expand intercity passenger rail service beyond the Northeast Corridor,” FRA Administrator Amit Bose said. “This is just one of many ways the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law is bringing about the next great rail revolution.”

There hasn't been any major wave of enthusiasm from potential beneficiaries of what would be state rail corridors.

Well it would've been better to expand the LD Network also, Amtrak's expansion plan's a joke!
