And it was done by onboard T&E, not station crew, as far as I know. Compared to all other train split locations such as New Haven (most NHV-SPG trains), Albany (48/49), and Spokane (7/8), Harrisburg (40/41) and even Pittsburgh (29/30), Auburndale was consistently the fastest, in my opinion.

I couldn't agree more! Date: 05/14/22 20:57 Re: Amtrak Author: jp1822 Splits and combinations like this seem to work quite well for overnight [sleeper] service in Europe (and the US for what trains still have them). Seems to be a good utilization of equipment and good way to secure additional riders. Yet Amtrak has driven this off - dumbing down operations..
