Passenger Trains > Kansas City Streetcar

Took a break from all the BNSF and UP trains to check out the new (opened for service in May 2016) Kansas City streetcars. Nothing old or rare to see with these of course, but it's now part of the rail scene in KCMO which works for me. Shown are cars 804 (Jazz theme) and 802 (sports theme), both in downtown KC 04-24-2022.

  The new street car line in Detroit on Woodward runs in the curb lanes.  Why did the Kansas City officials decide to locate the tracks for
their new street car line in the middle of the street?

Maybe because there are cars parked on the curb?

Great stuff!  I'm a big fan of the KC Streetcar, and I'm happy to see others photographing it as well.

The second car you photographed is wrapped (inside and out) for the city's MLS team, Sporting Kansas City.  A number of the seats have been wrapped in the "jerseys" of a number of notable players throughout the team's existence, making for an educational experience to those new to the team and/or sport.
