Did they splice bits of the stillborn Las Vegas Talgo into another Cascades trainset, or were they in the process of repainting the Vegas set a piece at a time for Cascades service, and all the bits seen here are from that set?  The end segment does appear to be labeled Mount Adams, which was reportedly the former Vegas set.

I'm not sure, I did think the mixed paint scheme was unusual

They did a lot of splicing and dicing in the Series 6 Talgo days, including of the Las Vegas set which became the Mount Adams, but as I recall, the power car you see in this photo was not the one destroyed in the 501 wreck which totaled the Mount Adams. At the time of that wreck, the Mount Adams had ower a car from another Talgo set substituting and the Mount Adams power car was sitting in the Seattle yards as a spare.  It's still there, by the way, along with four other Series 6 cars, all looking derelict.  For various reasons, they escaped sale for scrap.

Actually the power car you see was from the Mt. Olympus.  I think that was the one destroyed in the wreck.
