Passenger Trains > Father's Day 92.....Late.....Again

Father's Day 2022 dawned with a beautiful sunrise and comfortable temperatures in the Sandhills of North Carolina.  The family took me out for breakfast in Southern Pines where I noticed there where people with luggage milling about on the platform,   Right around 10AM, these folks have conceivably been waiting for over 3 hours and unfortunately, their wait is only half done.  Nearly 3 hours later and 5 miles to the south, we find the nearly 6 hour tardy #92 accelerating out of Aberdeen NC, passing the former Aberdeen Union Station (ACL, SOU, A&R).  92 held the main here for about 10 minute waiting on a set of CSXT southbound lite engines to clear up (appears to possibly be operating on L619's symbol).  92 had a 6th coach on it - not sure if it was deadhead or revenue.

I have to wonder if the late time-keeping for 91/92 will just get worse when 97/98 come back on line (IF they actually come back on line).  Sorry to be pessimistic.

Elctroliner, you're right, it's a big if for the restoration of 98/97, but what's up with 91 and 92 running late!

My son is 15 so he doesn't have his lcense yet. This means dear old dad takes him to school and now that schools out , football practice, every morning.  More often than not I catch the Star between 0830-0930.  Hour and a half to two hours late is on time these days.  Thursday and today where expectionally late.

Oops, Aberdeen was never ACL, Seaboard Air Line, origional NS and the Aberdeen and Rockfish.

Yea meant SAL.   S Line.  Oh well
