Take aways....

1. EIR not even complete yet. 
2. If all goes well, construction could start in 10 years
3. UP wants a 3rd main track for 4 more trains per 24 hrs.   Laugh

The biggest thing is UP, and some of these rail supporters never look at that, I bet BNSF'll be easier!

Wasn't the signalled siding for the Palm Springs Amtrak station built for these proposed commuter trains?  Or did UP insist on a signalled siding just for the six trains a week Amtrak Sunset?  BSB

It was a passing track for SP/UP for many years, not built for the passenger stop.

So it had to be signalled.
