Los Angeles International Airport's new People Mover Service has been unveiled today.

Technically, it was the first delivered car that was unveiled. The system is not scheduled to go into service until next year.

Are they finally building the rental car center too?  Being a regular LAX user,  the rental car shuttles are the worst experience to me,  especially on the pick-up at the terminals.

Hopefully by next year the crime situation in LA will, if not solved, be reduced so travelers won't be subject to harassment or robbery on their short ride to and from the terminals or on Metro trains to the airport.

Yes the rental car structure has been built. Large parking garage multi story. Near Arbor Vita and Aviation with people mover terminal. Any reason why steel rail and wheels were not used on the mover.

It's not scheduled to be in service until the 4th quarter of 2023. Source: KNX radio news story.
