Passenger Trains > Police ActivityDate: 11/17/22 18:13 Police Activity Author: regalstream1516 Looks like the westbound Empire Builder hit a car in Brookfield, suburban Milwaukee, killing the driver. Amtrak Twitter Alerts says 'Police activity near the tracks". News reports a man in his 60's drove around flashers and gates. No injuries reported on the train. Yesterday grade crossing accidents in Texas were described on Amtrak twitter as 'vehicle obstructing tracks'.
Date: 11/17/22 18:26 Re: Police Activity Author: PC1974 Happened just before the CN RR Xing at Duplainville. There was and 248 coming east and they got him stopped before the diamond. That freight and another have been already re crewed, along with the Amtrak crew. And CN has already run several across while CP is in a holding pattern.
Date: 11/17/22 18:31 Re: Police Activity Author: sethamtrak 7 was out of Chicago with 308 and 301 in the lead facing west, and the engine 180 3rd out facing east. Sounds like 308 was damaged but apparently not that bad.
BNSF 3 engine rule in effect. 7(16) was the 306, 45 and 127. Date: 11/18/22 10:40 Re: Police Activity Author: lordsigma Video on Facebook group showed 308 still leading at Devils Lake so damage to 308 must not be severe. Sadly sounds like one fatality at the accident.

BrightLine has had quite a bit of experience in this department. Their Chargers have taken out everything from motorcycles to box trucks at 79 mph, and I don't believe any engineers have suffered injuries. |
