Passenger Trains > Only 2 Hours Late Today, But Wait Until Tomorrow....

I caught up with train 7, the Empire Builder from Chicago, around noon today as it was coming into Edmonds. 

It was running about 2 hours late today, a vast improvement over yesterday.

Tomorrow, though, might not be so good.

A report posted tonight on Facrbook from a passenger on the train said they were informed a freight train ahead is disabled, and there will be a delay. The Amtrak status map shows train 7 stopped at East Glacier.

I have no idea how serious the situation is, and haven't heard any reports other than the passenger's.

Amtrak at 9:15 PST issued an alert about a delay. No additional info yet.

Freight derailment somewhere between Nyack and Belton.

Number 7 is on the move again, running just over 9 hours late.

Departed Whitefish at 07:34.

Looks like another evening arrival in Seattle.
