Cancellation is tomorrow’s 5 (5/25) as the eastbound Zephyr (6/22) hasn’t even made it to Iowa yet. Train is over 17 hours late, and still has a long ways to go. I can see Oakland not having enough equipment to make a stub train, and using short turns likes they did at Sacramento the other week. But Chicago should have enough equipment to run a stub train, and a rested crew. To me this smacks of Southwest’s problems over the holidays. Not enough investments in the systems, processes, equipment, and people to run your operation when things inevitably go sideways. Date: 01/25/23 10:09 Re: Zephyr Cancellation Author: stuporchief So what happens now? Does this train return to Emeryville as a deadhead move, or will the Emeryville departure of this equipment set as #6 also be annulled?

I believe Emeryville will see a cancellation of the Jan 27 departure for 6. Posted from iPhone |
