Passenger Trains > Capitol Limited(29/30) Status and NS Derailment Update ? ? ?

I don't have the patience to deal with Amtrak's website and don't have
time to play with their "Magic 8 Ball" to get answers to questions, so,
what's the latest with The Capitol? Service still suspended and until further
notice, maybe?  Any information about possible detour routes? 
Meanwhile, KDKA reports  tank cars still burning at East Palestine, OH
and "Catastrophic explosion possible - area evacuated," Ohio National Guard
on stand-by !

Still annulled until the fire is out. Fire is still going 

If it wasn't for the general crew shortage this would have been pretty simple to send via the Cleveland Line, wouldn't have even missed a station. Unfortunately I'll bet NS is hurting for pilots right now. 

The derailment area is in danger of blowing up  The last thing on anyone's mind is to get a 2 car train through. 

The derailment scene is very active.  It's impossible to even start planning service restoration until the fire is out and cleanup can begin.  Note that about 30 minutes from now NS is planning to start puncturing five cars containing HazMat materials in an effort to prevent an uncontrolled release and allow responders to get closer to the scene without the risk of an unexpected HazMat release. Hopefully this means that the scene can be locked down and cleanup can begin by tomorrow.  At that point maybe attention can turn towards service restoration.

Three. Sleeper, Diner-lounge, coach. As well as a Viewliner baggage car. 

Not even part of the route, or a bus bridge between Pittsburgh and Cleveland or Toledo. Frankly, with a three car train - why bother........the sense of a National System - despite what may have been said at a Board Meeting - just doesn't add up in full perspective of other things also going on........

We all know that if Amtrak can find ANY reason to not operate their trains, they immediately cancel the service however many days applies.  Derailments, storms, below zero weather, signal failures, equipment failures, crews unavailable, etc.  Such an attitude means they are not serious transportation.  They routinely cut off cars, so that you cannot plan a trip.  Then comes the notice that your car is blanked.  You may have booked your trip ieght months early.
