Passenger Trains > Window washing on VIA vs AmtrakDate: 03/11/23 08:12 Window washing on VIA vs Amtrak Author: WP17 Lots of discussion on this board about dirty unwashed windows on Amtrak trains
So here is something for comparison. I'm riding VIA#1 (The Canadian) and we have arrived in Jasper where the train gets serviced. I just noticed two service folks walk up to the window in my bedroom and they proceeded to wash the window, in spite of the fact the current temperature is a balmy 3 deg F Eat your heart out Amtrak:-) WP17 Date: 03/11/23 08:26 Re: Window washing on VIA vs Amtrak Author: Magritte55 I hope there's a decent crowd on the train to enjoy the views!!!
Date: 03/11/23 08:49 Re: Window washing on VIA vs Amtrak Author: amtrakbill I just took the Panama Railway from Colon to Panama City 2 days ago and found the dome car windows spotless on an afternoon run. It rains often there and the train just completed a RT that same morning
for the record I was not sideways taking the picture Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 03/11/23 10:27 by amtrakbill. Date: 03/11/23 10:53 Re: Window washing on VIA vs Amtrak Author: JimBaker Date: 03/11/23 11:02 Re: Window washing on VIA vs Amtrak Author: viatrainrider Is that an ex-SP dome?
Think I have noted at Jasper even far more than windows being washed in warmer weather with a movable car washer. Am I right DrawingroomA? Date: 03/11/23 14:13 Re: Window washing on VIA vs Amtrak Author: agentatascadero viatrainrider Wrote:

Am I right DrawingroomA? Yes, former SP dome, and the restoration looks beautiful. Second summer of Amtrak between Chicago and Denver. They were quite an impressive car. I would love to ride the Panama Canal train.
