Nice video, but no baggage car; are they being sidelined for a reason?

Last car is a Coach-Baggage. Maybe they figured out they really don't need the full Baggage cars.

Cool video, love how even riding it once 3 hits that curve outta Hackbarry the engineer wastes no time getting the train back to 90 and don't slow down until they get to the curve from the depot in Kingman which is amazing in itself!

70 new VIewliner shell baggage cars were never needed - in my opinion. Complete waste. It got CAF warmed up to production I guess, Half to one-third of that would have been sufficient. Amtrak should have had more VIewliner Bagg/Dorm cars, or Viewliner sleeper cars but we all know how that turned out..... Bottom line - they've figured out how to operate many of the long haul trains without baggage cars. Many are now stored or just being towed as axle count cars. Not saying they couldn't have used some baggage cars for opportunities, but NEVER have I EVER seen a full baggage car operated on Amtrak with just passenger's baggage in the 21st century. The only train that I have seen absolutely PACKED with passengers' baggage is VIA's Canadian. Came off inbound Canadian to Toronto and was shocked at the amount of baggage packed into that ex-CP stainless steel baggage car!!!! But it was also a 20+ car late August consist in early 2000's.
