A pair of Siemens ALC-42 Charger diesel-electric locomotives, Amtrak #301 (built: 04/2021; "Day One" 50th Anniversary Unit) and Amtrak #321 (built: ??/????), lead a 30-min late westbound Amtrak Train No. 7 ("Empire Builder") past MP97 on the BNSF Hillsboro Subdivision in Grand Forks, ND, during the sunrise hours of 06/04/2023.

Good question since their track record on getting LD Trains serviced is still bad!

The second Seattle Sleeper was restored to the Empire Builder's consist - FINALLY! It's still missing the second Seattle coach. Should be 11 cars! The CA Zephyr also got its second (NOT third) sleeper line restored. But look at the whole picture - all this came at the expense of a shortened Capitol Limited....and Auto Train. It was "the great sleeper shuffle."
