What is the status of Amtrak P42DC #42 (Veteran's Loco)?  Is it still at Beech Grove?

At last check, yes it is still in Beech Grove. It has/had a major electrical issue.

I thought someone posted (here?) that the electrical issue was significant enough to justify #42 being retired and used as shop training aid?

I believe you are correct and I had thought Amtrak was going to try and put an anniversary Veterans livery on another P42........
